Interfaith Homeless
Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP) Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) in
partnership with Tempe faith communities provide homeless people with hope
and opportunity for a better future by offering shelter, meals and
connections to community services. Five nights a week the I-HELP van
transports 25-30 homeless people from a central pickup point to a host site.
The host site rotates between different Tempe faith communities. These
communities open their doors and offer overnight shelter as well as dinner
and breakfast. In the morning, the I-HELP van provides transportation back to
the pickup point. Watch a
video to see our program in action. I-HELP has been operating for over two years and
we are making a difference in our community! §
We have improved the
lives of our homeless guests by connecting them with services and
opportunities. Read about some of our success stories. §
We have given a voice to
the homeless people in our community. §
We have raised community
awareness – hundreds of families from 20 communities participate in this
program. Visit our photo gallery to see our volunteers in action. We currently provide support five nights a week. Our goal is to increase our support to reach seven nights a week. With your help we can meet this goal. Join our team of caring communities. Contact us at i-help@cox.net to get more information. Print our I-HELP Information sheet for your community. |
